Overall this week, there haven't really been any tasks set and there has been no meeting however production starts officially next week.

Additional Actions:

With no set tasks this week, I looked into conducting some research into opening credits within our crime drama genre. I did this because I would like to create an opening credits sequence, if I have time with the edit further down the road. It would be a nice addition to add some strong visuals, incorporate a related song/music with the theme, add some more professionalism and it would be ideal to give the audience something memorable with the start of each episode in our miniseries.

For my research I used: YouTube, texts I have watched and some secondary source material (articles/webpages) online. I broke my research into: listing some familiar TV shows in our genre that I have watched, looked at the best TV opening sequences in general through fan favourites, analysed what sort of sound is used, noted down the typical format, the colour palette used and duration it should be.

Some key texts that were analyse include: 'Bosch', 'Dexter' and 'Line of Duty'.

After my carrying out my research, I applied what I had learnt and started brainstorming ideas of how I could extrapolate, what I had just learnt to our programme.

My list of notes and potential ideas for our programme can be seen in the image below:

Key Notes from the Meeting:

N/A-There was no meeting this week but I assume my colleagues are busy with preparation of the production taking place from the beginning of next week.

General Assignments:

None have been set so far for next week as I have said above, I presume the crew is occupied with production starting from next week and I will be awaiting for the producer to give me the go ahead, to purchase the resources I need for the edit still.

My Assignments:

  • I have uploaded a post on our social media page about my role and aspirations for this production (@sedgleysoldiers).

  • I am still awaiting for the producer for final information regarding a risk assessment and about funding for editing related resources.
