This week I started researching, learning new knowledge and fundamentals to note down with some of the camera kit that I will be using this year. These cameras include: The Sony FS5, Sony FS7, Canon C100 and the Canon C300.
On all these camera tutorials I covered and learnt an overview of a variety of topics which I believe will be very helpful to me in this specialisation of cinematography by providing me overall with new knowledge about specific elements I would be unfamiliar with the camera but also some important pointers from operators about some do and don'ts with the cameras. These topics I learnt about include the following headings: General Camera Set Up, Display Options, Video Output, User Menu, Custom Shooting, Cine EI Shooting, Hypergammas, Matrix Settings, S-log2, S-log3, Exposure Index, Focus Control, Focus Aids, Exposure Tools, S&Q Motion, Picture Cache, Resolutions and FPS Rates.
I found all of this overwhelming at first to soak in however it has made me more comfortable when I eventually get round to using these camera but also in the future there is some very useful information which, I can take further down the line and apply to other cameras I may use.
Below is some images of the cameras I have been referring to:
Canon C100

Canon C300

Sony FS5

Sony FS7
