Week 1: Concept and Production Skills Development (Cinematography)

This week on 'Concept and Production Development', I have been given an overview of what my specialism of cinematography will entail over the semester. This included looking at what sort of seminars, lectures and workshops we would be attending and what sort of skills we would be developing. Furthermore, we also looked at the unit guide and the brief for the unit which clarified what we would be assessed on at the end of the unit (a 10 minute presentation on development).

My tasks this week were to create a draft skills audit form as well as a individual learning agreement form.

In the skills audit form I highlighted areas I believed I was rather weak on, required more knowledge and practice developing during the course of the semester. Here is a screengrab from the skills audit form of some of the skills I wish to develop:

The other sheet consisted of the learning agreement form which was a document portraying a summary of work I would propose to submit and possibly present. Additionally, this document highlights what I may potentially discuss with my tutor during the semester as well as planning some books to read and some texts for my viewing.
